My Critical Reasoning:

What type of Ayah it is?

Statement containing information

What is the statement about?

Shirk.

How important is the matter to you?

It is the matter of Jannat or Jahannam.

What is said about being a Mushrik?

Most of the believers are Mushrik! Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun!

Who are the Believers?

Those who Believe in Allah and His Rasul Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam.

How do you say that? What about those who only believe in Allah but not Rasulullah?

Well, believing only in Allah Subhanahu doesn’t make sense.
The Quraish believed in Allah but did not believe in Rasulullah, so they were called Kuffar.
Similarly, the Jews of Madinah believed in Allah, believed in His other messengers but rejected Rasulullah Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, therefore, they were called Kuffar.

Does it then only applicable to the Muslims?

No doubt!

Could we possibly think it widely? Could most of the ‘believer’ somehow points to the believer in other religions?

There’s no scope actually to go beyond what Qur’an and authentic Hadith put us into. We should not try to go beyond even it is very hard for us to swallow the fact.

But I can prove it to you that whatever way you might think around it, you will end up in the same situation.

If you expand and take the meaning of the word ‘believer’ to include those who beleive in Allah in different forms and names such as those who say they believe in a ‘Something out there’, ‘Super Being’, ‘Energy’, ‘Force’ ‘God’, ‘Iloha’ ‘Isshwor’ ‘Vogobaan’, etc. then the obvious meaning again should be that most of them are Mushrikun.

What makes all of the other religious people to be Mushrikun?

All those religious people out there who believe in a ‘God’ but are Mushrikun such as,

‘Hindus’ who believe in ONENESS of ‘God’ but believe in many other ‘God’s are Mushrikun.
Same goes with the Jews, Christians, Zoroastrian, etc. because none of these religioous people worship Allah alone. They took their messengers as their ‘God’ too.

On the other hand if you take ‘Allah’ as a literal meaning to Allah’s name, then that also points only to Muslims.

Therefore, whatever meaning you derive here for ‘Allah’ it is obvious as the Ayah confirms that most of the people whether believe in a ‘Creator’ or a ‘God’ or Allah are actually Mushrik.

What about the poeple who belong to other religion but do not worship any other ‘God’s?

As I clear it before. It is not possible. Not believing in Rasulullah Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam makes one Kafir even he says he believes in Allah. It is just the same.

But for the arguments sake, even if you bring logic and reason, it doesn’t make sense.
What does believe in Allah or ‘something out there’ means? Is it just merely a belief?
Is there no action part of it? Is there no other knowledge about Allah that he cares for? How does he believe in Allah? How does he relate himself with Allah? Does he thinks his creator leaves him with no guidance, no messengers?  How do you think one really believes in a Creator and sincere about it but then he rejects Qur’an? Reject that Allah did not send any guidance. It can’t be.

I met these people, they worship themselves, each of them are overwhelemd by their own different ideas and pervertive obsessions. They say, they believe but do not belong to any religions. The fact is, they just don’t want to submit. They toook their desire as their ‘God’. They want bound-less freedom, they can’t limit their lives by the limitation set by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. They can’t leave their adulterous, alcoholic life. So, they reject His guidelines. They are Mushrikun and they are the Kuffar.

By any chance, could this Ayah possibly only applicable to those religious people other than Muslims?

Impossible!
To think that, you are thinking and taking those people who believe in other religions as a ‘believer’ in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. And you are accepting them as believer means, you are going against what Allah said, “No other Deen (religion) would be accepted to Him except Islam” (Al-Quran 3:85)

So, you can understand this ayah gives you no scope to apply to the people of other religions and taking them as ‘beleiver’ in Allah Ta’ala.

That’s a discussion we had beyond necessity but for a remote satisfaction. So, let’s get back to the original points.

What’s your relationship with this Ayah?

Scary information! Need to check how and what acts make a Muslim as Mushrik. Need to check my situation. Aujubillah!

But isn’t it clear that Grave worshipers are Mushrikun, that we already know? I mean. most of the Ulema say that!

Well, it is. But they are not many or do not involve the ‘most’! Allah says ‘most of those who believe’  in Allah are Mushrikun. Therefore, most of the Muslims are Mushrik! Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. That can’t let me sleep until I know, ‘Who could be a Mushrik? ‘What makes a Muslim to be a Mushrik?

Doesn’t most of the Ulema already tell you who are the Mushrikun?

You want to feel safe, right? You want to try hard to work out that this Ayah has got no relation with you, aren’t you? Seems it is not as easy as you thought!

The fact is, It is not what ‘most of the Ulema’ describe as what Shirk is limited to. It is what in the Quran and in the authentic Hadith that tell you who are Mushrikun. ‘Most of the Ulema’ might only mention the common acts of Shirk but ignore other forms of Shirk which they themselves are ignorant of.

They are Jaheel (ignorant) being unaware of the time they live in. They have no idea about new kind of Shirk in this present time. They only know what they were taught through the pipeline that carried the idea of Shirk long time before the Khilafah is abolished. They never used to think about Qur’an and Hadith themselves therefore, even though they born in a state of without Khilafah they still think Shirk is only what they were taught before the Khilafah. They are ignorant of the fact that the absence of Khilafah has put the Ummah in a new waves of Shirk which the earlier Ulema had never faced in their times.

And if you block the understanding of the Qur’an to “You have to think the way ‘they’ think” then how would you get to know these new Shirk that Ummah has been facing for last few generaions in the absense of Islamic Authority, Islamic Rule, Islamic State, the Khilafah! That’s why those ‘Ulema’ do not understand Taghut.

They take a present day Tyrant Rular, those who implement Kuffar’s law, in the same scale to a tyrant Muslim Rular of the past who governed by Allah’s Law. Sheep-headed, stupid are they.

Therefore, most of these empty-headed, sheep-headed ‘Ulema’ are only concerend about a small group of Mushrikun, the grave worshippers, leaving the Shirk of obeying the law from men and involving in the process like voting, which gives men the right to make the Law against Allah’s Law.

This one issue gives enough evidence to this Ayah. And also the fact is, ‘most of the Ulema’ is giving you a verdict doesn’t also mean it is the truth.

How do you say that? Why can’t we take the opinion of the Most of the Ulema? Don’t we take the opinion of the Majority?

Let’s analyse. If you go by sects or by groups of all Muslims, you know the Hadith about sects, that there will be 73 sects in Islam, only one will make to Jannah and the rests are for the fire! Doesn’t each group is headed by Ulema? And then isn’t that in general makes ‘most of the Ulema’ as Mushrikun! Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. That obviously makes ‘most of the believer’, so you might think the problem is solved. But no!

By the way, the ‘Majoirty’ thing you know is simply a myth. To know the Myth of ‘Majority’ you can read from here.

But why are you talking the Ulema of other Baatil sects to prove your point of claiming ‘Most of the Ulema’ are wrong?

Because all of these sects think that they are the saved one! And most of them claim to follow the Quran, Hadith and the way of the righteous Khalifah! Even the Grave worshipers derive the evidence from the Quran.

But let’s forget those sects. Talk about the ‘correct’ sect or group you belong to.  Is it ‘Ahle Sunnah Wa Al Jama’ah’? Let me prove you that most of the Ulema belong to this group falls in the same sutiation.

How could it be?

I will mention the vast Mushrikun scenario in most of the popular Ulema you know around you.
The ‘Ulema’ who preach “engage in voting”, “we don’t need Khilafah”, “Islam weighs pros and cons”, “You have responsibility being citizen”  find logic and evidence in the Quran.

The scholar that preach “Govt’ doesn’t impact on the mind of people, it’s media and philosophers” also derive logic and reason in support of his acts and arguments of how he takes away people from longing and struggling for “The Khilafah”

and then the groups, ‘Islamic’ political parties engaging Muslims in Shirk (voting and engagement in ‘democracy’ that exists today) They also provide evidenc from the Quran and Hadith.

Since they gave evidence from the Quran and Hadith, you would never think or have the least idea that their actions could constitute the elements of Shirk. You would never give it a slightest chance that these ‘Ulema’ could be the one who are Mushrikun and calling people from the gate of Jahannam!

That’s frightening as if my heart stopped breathing, these are the most popular Ulema today, they have millions of followers, they have thousands of lectures!

Well, they have most of the things correct and according to the Quran and Saheeh Hadith but even they have 95% things correct of what they preach and you, of course, will get benefit from their wisdom but shaitan just need ONE thing to make them Mushrikun, the slightest link that constitutes element of Shirk to make the way of the most learned Ulema and their follower to Jahannam! And Allah knows best. May Allah guide them and protect us from being among the Mushrikun.

So, don’t forget the power of shaitan when Allah says shaitan even tries to manipulate with the prophet’s recitation of Allah’s words (22:52). So, who are these Ulema that shaitan cannot touch their word? Maybe in a particular moment, shaitan has overpowered them and they might later realise their mistakes. Allah knows best. May Allah guide them. They used to be MY most beloved learned brothers and Ulema of this time. If my knowledge and intellect are like a leaf, I consider their’s like a banyan tree. But I found many other “not a popular at all” Ulema go with my understanding that the slightest relation with democracy and voting is shirk!

I think one should not rely on his Path to Jannah with Ulema!

Well, they are the most learned ones!

But then they lead their people to Jahannam!

That’s actually right and was warned about! in the Quran and in Hadith.

So, what do we do? What’s the way out?

You have to read and think hard (As Allah questioned many times, “don’t you think”?) and don’t be settled that you are saved (that you follow your most learned Ulema and you think he gave you a ticket to Jannah.)

Study yourself the Quran and Hadith and think about it YOURSELF first. And then you check with Tafsir (as most of those are, apart from the reason or incident of revelation, merely opinion and understanding of that Ulema who has written the tafsir, therefore, by reading tafsir first you already are giving your mind to someone’s understanding which will limit your thoughts). And read other great scholars explanations such as Madhab (school of thoughts). And read books from Ulema and read or listen to contemporary Ulema.

And then see which one goes with your understanding! And that’s how you are protected and know that you are not thinking ‘wildly’ and going ‘astray’ as they discourage you to read (by the way, the ones discouraging you to read yourself and think, you already can understand that probably these are those Ulema who you need to cautious about)

But when you read yourself, you might make mistakes and come up with a wrong decision (even after aligning your understanding with few Ulema, as mentioned before) but that will at least give an advantage in your case before Allah, the Most Just, on the day of Judgement! If you struggle to find the right course, you can have an argument with your Rabb on that day,  “Oh my Rabb, I tried my best with the intellect you gave me, I never rest, I never wasted my time, I was constantly thinking of your Ayat, you are my witness, your Mailakah are my witness so save me from Jahannam” And your Rabb is never unjust! (You can start pleading and crying)

But while I encourage you to read and understand Quran YOURSELF FIRST, there is one most IMPORTANT thing I need to WARN you about:

What is it?

It is your INTENTION.
What the intention one should have for this approach of understanding of deen?

The driving force should be:
Here I state it clearly that this method of approaching to the understanding of Quran and Hadith is ONLY for those who FEAR Allah and want to dig deep to be saved from the punishment of Jahannam, Qiyamah, Qabr, Death.

Then, what’s the problem sitting with an Ulema with the same intention?

First criteria is, don’t sit with those Baatil ‘Ulema’. Discard those in the first place.
Then when you have done with your investigation of true Ulema still same method applies with them. Don’t let the Ulema you sitting with confine you, restrict you with HIS understanding. You make your understanding and check with the other True Ulema who yet has got different opinions.

Because:

(1) It is Allah, your Rabb already warned you about Ulema (that people have used to take their Ulema as their Rabb) (9:31)

(2) Rasulullah sallillahu alaihi wa sallam also warned about people who will call from the gate of Jahannam. and warned about following the footsteps of the previous nations inch by inch.

(3) And you know the time you live in, the warnings are evident like daylight, you see the corruption of the most learned ‘Ulema’ in your open eyes, you see the misguidance of ‘Ulema’ right and left, therefore, you don’t rely upon any Ulema even you find him correct in 99 of issues of Islam according to the Quran and Sahih Hadith.

(4) You see even those Mujahideen who fight Jihad for the cause of Allah with their lives, families and wealth, these Mujahideen are in different groups and fight among themselves. So who would you rest your Jannah to? You have no rest but pleading to Allah for guidance until death takes you.

And also I warn you the problem studying under ANY particular Ulema of any of these groups which will make you CONTENT that you are in the correct group, therefore, you will find and seek comfort with the guidance of that particular Ulema And stop STRUGGLING for guidance from Allah and that’s where the danger is.

And if you really understand the time you live in now, you would think of ‘Salman al-Persi’ and you will think of ‘Abu Dhar al-Ghifar’ and how they struggled, approached and found the truth.

Therefore, you trust Allah and trust your intellect and here is the intention that plays the important role. And you will yet find many learned Ulema out there who go with your understanding, and you will follow them sometimes from far but they even won’t know you are following them. You even won’t think you are following them but it is kind of, you are on the same path, in the same understanding, with the same heart. SubhanAllah! But then your practice of this approach to Quran will keep you on alert on any individual, anytime In Shaa Allah.

You don’t approach the Quran with any other intention such as ‘How easy you can make Islam for yourself’, ‘How you can follow the least of Islam within your comfort zone’ etc.
In those cases, you will be at the risk of taking your DESIRE as your ILAHA (25:43). And Allah knows best.

But how do I know which acts are the acts of Mushrikun?

We have to look for the evidence from the Quran and Hadith what actions are regarded as the act of shirk! So, keep reading!

And Allah knows best. May Allah give us the correct understanding of His Deen and protect us from Shirk, protect us from Jahannam! Ameen.
