My Reflection:
Checked few translations and Tafseer about the word ‘Fuwada’, which they translated as ‘heart’. My curiosity was what will be asked about the heart?
Tafseer Ibne Katheer, ‘Fi Jalalayn’ of Sayyid Qutb, Tafseer Ibne Abbas do not say anything of heart matters. Subhanallah!
Usually I do not look at other Tafseer. But this issue make me to.
So, Mareful Quran says few things. What I understood from his explanation is that basically it is about the feelings of the heart.
Meaning, envy (Hasad, jealousy) of the heart,
Anger of the heart,
Hatred of the heart,
Pride of the heart, etc
all the negative feelings of the heart.
May Allah save us from the evil feelings of our heart!
Subhanallah!
So we got ‘Qalb’, which also translated as ‘heart’ and we seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our Qalb.
Then we got ‘Nafs’, which usually translated as ‘desire’ and we seek refuge with Allah for the evil of our Nafs.
And then, we now get the ‘Fuwad’ as well and we seek refuge with Allah for the evil of our Fuad
