The Ayah 2:207

And of the people is he who sells himself, seeking means to the approval of Allah. And Allah is kind to [His] servants.

আর মানুষের মাঝে এক শ্রেণীর লোক রয়েছে যারা আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টিকল্পে নিজেদের জানের বাজি রাখে। আল্লাহ হলেন তাঁর বান্দাদের প্রতি অত্যন্ত মেহেরবান।

What’s the main issue here? I mean what action is Allah talking about?
يَشْرِي نَفْسَهُ
“He who sells his Nafs, his life.”

Meaning, he who overcomes his Nafs, he who throughs away his nafs.
The one who leaves his desire, his comfort!
The one who gives his life, his wealth!
For the sake of Allah!

Is throughing your nafs is a easy job?
Is it a regular Job?
Can you do it in a regular mind?
Or do you have to be very conscious about Allah?

Can a regular Ebadh of Allah be able to do it?
One has to go beyond his regular scope, isn’t it?
And that’s where the love comes!

You command people to do something, you are pleased if they do it.
But among those who do you like most?
You like someone who goes extra steps to please you!
And then, when someone goes extreme level of his ability, that’s when you love him!
It’s a Simple Math!
Allah Subhanahu loves you going Extreme!
