إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أُولَٰئِكَ يَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَ اللَّهِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Sahih International
Indeed, those who have believed and those who have emigrated and fought in the cause of Allah – those expect the mercy of Allah . And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

আর এতে কোন সন্দেহের অবকাশ নেই যে, যারা ঈমান এনেছে এবং যারা হিজরত করেছে আর আল্লাহর পথে লড়াই (জেহাদ) করেছে, তারা আল্লাহর রহমতের প্রত্যাশী। আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন ক্ষমাকারী করুনাময়।

My Critical Reasoning:

Do we need the mercy of Allah?

Yes.

Why?

Because without having mercy from Allah we will have the following consequences: instinctively do evil (12:53), would follow shaitan (4:83), drift apart by differences (11:118-119) and will be misguided.

Then what are the criteria that mentioned in this Ayah to be ELIGIBLE to get Allah’s mercy?

Three. 1. Believing in Allah 2. Making Hijrah 3. Fight Jihad.

Did we fulfil no. 1?

Yes, Al Hamdulillah.

Then, what about the No. 2, Hijrah?

Well, Rasulullah sallillahu alaihi wa Sallam said there is no Hijrah after this day (means when Mecca was conquered)

That’s absolutely right. What was mecca became after the conquest?

It became the land of Islam.

  What was Mecca before the conquest?

It was the land of kufr.

Was it the reason why Hijrah was obligatory for Muslims from Mecca?

Yes.

Therefore, after the conquest of Mecca do Muslims needed to make Hijrah from Mecca anymore?

No!

Therefore, the reason Rasulullah declared ‘No Hijrah’ is simple to understand, isn’t it? 

Absolutely, easy to understand.

But today, when a Muslim lives in a kuffar land, does this Ayah applies to him?

I think so! But there is no land which we can call the land of Islam as there is no land on earth today that follows Islamic rules completely.

But wasn’t Afghanistan a land of Islam during 1996-2001? Wasn’t Iraq and Syria was a land of Islam under the Islamic State from June 2014 to Sep 2017? Isn’t Taliban still operate most part of Afghanistan under Islamic ruling?

Yes, but those were not stable countries in strength, they were always in a fight with kuffar, taghut and with those who want to follow the systems of kuffar.

Doesn’t it make more appropriate to make Hijrah to those lands for Jihad as that is the no. 3 criteria to earn Allah’s mercy?

SubhanAllah, yes!
