اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَىٰ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
“Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.”

“আল্লাহ মানুষের প্রাণ হরণ করেন তার মৃত্যুর সময়, আর যে মরে না, তার নিদ্রাকালে। অতঃপর যার মৃত্যু অবধারিত করেন, তার প্রাণ ছাড়েন না এবং অন্যান্যদের ছেড়ে দেন এক নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের জন্যে। নিশ্চয় এতে চিন্তাশীল লোকদের জন্যে নিদর্শনাবলী রয়েছে।”
(Al-Quran Sura Az-Zumar 39;42)
What’s in it for you? What you do with this info? What’s your benefit in this knowledge!
You can wonder first, Allah takes soul at the death that’s understandable, in fact, that’s what causes death, the absence of soul! But I don’t understand how the soul is not there in a sleeping person while his life is on, while he is still alive!
Well, you can wonder and that’s quite ok!
But don’t let shaitan tells you that “I can’t take it.” or “I don’t understand it therefore, I don’t take it”
if something like that crosses your mind, recite, Aujubilllahi min as-shaitanir Razeem. Because if that happens you become a kafir, a disbeliever on Allah’s statement! So, first be aware of this issue for your own safety!
What’s the BENEFIT?:
But what you can do with this piece, a partial knowledge!
Firstly, think! Why Allah put this knowledge for? Must be for our benefit! But it is partial. Partial in a sense that knowledge about NAFS completes with knowing all the info around it as well as other similar issues with it such as Ruh, Qalb, Fuad etc.
But for now, what benefit we can derive from this knowledge!
It could be like, ‘BE AWARE! Your soul is going to Allah!’
SubhanAllah this thought itself could be both exciting and shivering at the same time!
Why exciting?
Because my soul visits Allah! SubhanAllah what an excitement could be in this thought!
What’s your ACTION:
Then, why shivering?
Because this could be my death! Inna lillahi Wa Inna Ilihi Rajiun!
So if these thoughts come to your mind you will beg Allah’s Rahmah, you will make dua as Rasulullah sallillahu alahi wa sallam taught us. This is our action part.
Imagine Al-Goyeeb (the UNSEEN):
Then come to another realm! Imagination! Imagine this hard.
And it is not fantasy. You imagine something that Allah mentioned in the Quran. That should be enough for a certainty of faith so as to imagine the fact with certainty.
And how does that imagination work?
You imagine Allah’s system, that you are part of Allah’s system. And how Allah, the owner of the dominion, works.
Now, imagine a world of the robot.
They are created in such a system that every day they have to unplug them or inactive them by taking their brain-chip out or by resetting themselves.
Imagine the ADMINISTRATION of Allah, the owner of the dominion:
You’re exactly living in such a system. SubhanAllah. That’s Allah’s way, His system of the world. He created this universe, He created His best creation, human and then He makes them in such a system that human get exhausted every day, therefore, they have to go to sleep and thus He takes the chip, NAFS (soul) out from him, resets the body and the mind. Subhanallah!, in Fact, science says, that’s when body heals itself! Allahu Akbar! That’s a resetting!
This will give you a picture of a reality of Allah’s world! And that’s the reality of human being as per the CERTAIN knowledge. That’s the reality of the world for a Muslim! That’s the reality of the administration of our RABB, Allah as to how He maintains His creation!
The Benefit of Imagination:
And what benefit is in that imagination?
Well, that’s where the greatest benefit lies, in imagination!
Living with the fact of UNSEEN that Allah put as FIRST criteria of a successful MUSLIM, believing in the Gayyib (Quran 2:3)
Why did Allah make it as a first criteria for a Mu’min to be successful?
SubhanAllah! That’s what keeps you strong in Allah’s deen!
That’s what makes you strong in TAWAQQUL on Allah!
That’s what keeps you away from shaitan (another unseen)
and finally, that’s what keeps you away from sins
and that’s what make Jannah easy for you
and that’s how you become the MUFLIHUUN, the successful one by entering into the Jannah!
SubhanAllah so much benefit to derive from just thinking of ONE Ayah, biznillah! Al Hamdulillah!
