Critical Reasoning:

What type of Ayah is this?
An instruction, a command to Muslims.

Command about what?
Greetings. How to greet and how to return a greetings.

What’s the greeting of a Muslim?
‘AsSalamu A’laikum’

How do we know?

When Allah, Al-Khaliq created Adam, HE said (to him), 
“Go and greet that group of angels sitting there, and listen what they will say in reply to you, for that will be your GREETING and the GREETING of your OFFSPRING.” 
Adam (went and) said, ‘As-Salamu alaikum.’ 
They replied, ‘AsSalamu-‘Alaika wa Rahmatullah. 
So they increased ‘Wa Rahmatullah’
(Saheeh Bukhari 6227)

Now, Is there a problem greeting a Muslim with ‘Good Morning’, ‘Good afternoon or Good Night?’ Or in Bangla ‘সুপ্রভাত’, ‘শুভ সকাল’, ‘শুভ সন্ধা’ অথবা ‘শুভ রাত্রি’?
Yes! A big problem.

Why? What’s the problem?
Because this is a must for a Muslim to follow Allah’s instructions and Guidance.
This is just a basic for a Muslim in order to go back to Jannah. 

When Allah sent Adam, our father to earth, He said,
“Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance—there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:38)

Therefore, Allah sent the Quran for this Ummah and Muhammad, Rasulullah as guidance, Sallallahu A’laihi Wa Sallam. And here in this Ayah Allah, Al-Hadee clearly gave us a guidance/ instruction for our daily life, for our social interaction with other Muslims. And He clearly mentioned that ‘this will be the GREETING of your offspring’. Subhanallah! This is what called the ‘Deen of Allah’, ‘Deen of Islam’,  the Way of Life. 

And how significant is this?
(1) This seems was the first teaching of Deen to Adam by his Rabb.
(2) Allah again reminded us the Way of the Greeting in the Quran in this Ayah.
After that how can a Muslim greets another Muslim with something else?

Then, Allah warned us that if we follow any other Deen, we will be loser.  (Sura Baqarah 2:120)
Rasulullah also clearly warned, ‘Whoever follows a (Deen, Way of Life) of another nation, he is one of them.’ (Abu Dawud 4031, Hasan Saheeh) 

Therefore, greeting a Muslim with ‘Good Morning’ or ‘শুভ সকাল’ is following the Deen of the Kuffar/ Mushrikun. Whoever does that he doesn’t belong to the Muslims, he belongs to the Kuffar, he becomes one of them. And obviously he will be a loser.

And this is the first thing he will face in the Qabr,
“What was your Deen”?
So, his punishment will start from the Qabr.
(May Allah protect us)

Then, Allah, Shadidul Eqab, further warned in this same Ayah that He, Al-Haseeb, will account for everything. Subhanallah! what a chilling warning!
May Allah make our Hisaab easy on the Qiyamah!.
Ameen.

Understanding the situation of the Muslims today:

let alone the Muslims living in the Kuffar’s lands, greeting Muslims with ‘Good Morning’ became a corporate culture in the ‘Muslim’ countries, It’s a common practice around the world, be it a ‘Muslim’ country or in the Lands of the Kuffar.

To make you understand the significance distortion/ deviation of these Muslims from Allah’s Deen, let me give you a scenario:
A Muslim with whatever level of Deen or Eman, when he walks to a Masjid and meets other Muslims there, he greets them with ‘AsSalamu Alaikum’, you will never find a Muslim greets other Muslims with ‘Good Morning’ in a Masjid but the same Muslim goes to his work place, in a corporate official environment, he greets his Muslim brother with ‘Good Morning!’
What a disaster! 

Meaning,
they obey Allah’s instruction in the Masjid only and disobey in their workplace, 
they follow Allah’s Deen in the Masjid and Kuffar’s Deen in their workplace.
they follow a Deen, part of which belong to Islam and part of which belong to the Kuffar,
while Allah warned them to follow Allah’s Deen entirely. (Sura Baqarah 2:208)

So, what’s their status? 
They belong to the Kuffar.
They don’t belong to the Muslims.
May Allah not make us from among those.

And Allah knows best.
May Allah protect us from following Kuffar’s Deen.
May Allah save us from His punishment.
May Allah guide us.

The question comes, how this has happened?

Many reasons. Many root causes link to many events long back, which cannot be explained in this scope. But only a few bullet points can be mentioned.

(1) External Reasons: Islamic authority was dismantled.
Muslims were overtaken by the Kuffar long back. Like, a father of the family is killed and the enemy became the father of the baby-children. So the enemy now raised those children with his ideologies and children took him as their father, forgetting their own father.

(2) The factory that processed (taught) Muslims to follow Kuffar’s Deen:

Kuffar set up a education system to educate Muslims their (Kuffar) Deen in disguise of ‘modern education’. Muslims having ‘Hubbu Dunya’ (Love for Dunya) rushed to join their schools leaving the Madrasah. Therefore, it was easy for the Kuffar to shape the mindset of the Muslims that their ways are ‘smarter’, ‘modern’ while demoralizing them about Islamic ways are traditional, backward. Muslims slowly adopted their ways, they call it ‘western/ modern way of life’ while it is actually the ‘Kuffar’s way of life’, if you have to properly term it.

(3) Evil within: Abandoning the Quran and the Wahee.

The disaster stroked the Muslims within. 
They left the Quran, they abandoned the Quran. Quran was made a thing to them only to recite for many generations.

Moreover, the astray ones preached that the Quran is for Ulama only to understand and contemplate. They made it almost a Haram thing for regular Muslims to understand and contemplate on the Quran (while Allah ordered, encouraged every Muslims to contemplate. (Surah Muhammad 47:24) 

Consequently, Muslims left the Quran. Thus an Ayah of the Quran do not impact a Muslim anymore. They only follow whatever ‘package Islam’ their respective Ulama preach them.

While Quran’s instructions and teaching remains out of their daily life therefore, they failed to reconcile their lifestyle with the Quran, consequently, they had no choice but to ‘go with the flow’ of the time and the environment they live in, thus following Kuffar’s Deen became a normal thing in a Muslim’s life.

And most importantly Muslims understood and took the ‘Five Pillars’ as their only Deen. Thus they ended up doing a half of Deen from Islam and a half of Deen from the Kuffar without even realising.

May Allah protect us from following Kuffar’s Deen.
May Allah protect us from his anger.
May Allah guide us.
