It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allah, their RABB, “If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful.”

তিনিই সে সত্তা যিনি তোমাদিগকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন একটি মাত্র সত্তা থেকে; আর তার থেকেই তৈরী করেছেন তার জোড়া, যাতে তার কাছে স্বস্তি পেতে পারে। অতঃপর পুরুষ যখন নারীকে আবৃত করল, তখন, সে গর্ভবতী হল। অতি হালকা গর্ভ। সে তাই নিয়ে চলাফেরা করতে থাকল। তারপর যখন বোঝা হয়ে গেল, তখন উভয়েই আল্লাহকে ডাকল যিনি তাদের পালনকর্তা যে, তুমি যদি আমাদিগকে সুস্থ ও ভাল দান কর তবে আমরা তোমার শুকরিয়া আদায় করব।
