Indeed, your Lord is Allah , who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah , Lord of the worlds.

নিশ্চয় তোমাদের প্রতিপালক আল্লাহ। তিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলকে ছয় দিনে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। অতঃপর আরশের উপর অধিষ্টিত হয়েছেন। তিনি পরিয়ে দেন রাতের উপর দিনকে এমতাবস্থায় যে, দিন দৌড়ে রাতের পিছনে আসে। তিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন সূর্য, চন্দ্র ও নক্ষত্র দৌড় স্বীয় আদেশের অনুগামী। শুনে রেখ, তাঁরই কাজ সৃষ্টি করা এবং আদেশ দান করা। আল্লাহ, বরকতময় যিনি বিশ্বজগতের প্রতিপালক।

My Comment:
I don’t like the translation of the word ‘Rabb’ as ‘Lord’ which is common in almost all English translations. It seems that is the the best choice, however it gives me an awkward feeling as the kufr (who has only twisted knowledge about Allah) gives the same title to a man; a human being who has some authority and power. How on earth could a Muslim translate it to that same word when they translate the meaning of their ‘Rabb’. It makes me feel sick. I feel like it is one of the sign of how much even a Muslim scholar’s mind has been influenced by the kufr’s system, their society, their culture and their literature.

It doesn’t even come close to the proper meaning of Rabb. It means everything that the creator does for me, from creating me as a best creation and then nourishing every single cell of my body, giving me the needs, guiding me, teaching me knowledge, teaching me how to worship him, guarding me, showing me write or wrong, warning me of the bad, rewarding me for the good, and everything else in between. I think those translations should be corrected and the word ‘Lord’ should be replaced with the original Allah’s word ‘Rabb’ by putting a general note about what ‘Rabb’ means. And Allah knows best. May Allah guide us and make us submit to him entirely and enrich us with pure knowledge. Ameen.
