Ḥadīth in Musnad al-Bazzār (no. 7810) & Muʿjam al-Ṭabarānī al-Kabīr (no. 10500)
Arabic Text:
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
إِنَّ أَعْمَالَ النَّهَارِ تُعْرَجُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْلِجَ اللَّيْلُ، وَأَعْمَالَ اللَّيْلِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُشْرِقَ الشَّمْسُ”.
Translation:
Abū Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Verily, the deeds of the day ascend before the night approaches, and the deeds of the night ascend before the sun rises.”
Authentication Status
- Chain Analysis:
- Al-Haythamī (in Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid, 10/202) states:“رِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ”
“Its narrators are those of Ṣaḥīḥ (Bukhārī/Muslim).” - Al-Albānī authenticated it in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr (no. 1863).
- Shuʿayb al-Arnāʾūṭ graded it حسن (ḥasan) in Tahqīq Musnad al-Bazzār (18/74).
- Al-Haythamī (in Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid, 10/202) states:“رِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ”
