وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللَّهِ هُوَ الْهُدَىٰ ۗ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُم بَعْدَ الَّذِي جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ ۙ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

 

And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their Deen. Say, “Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance.” If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.

ইহুদী ও খ্রীষ্টানরা কখনই আপনার প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হবে না, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনি তাদের ধর্মের অনুসরণ করেন। বলে দিন, যে পথ আল্লাহ প্রদর্শন করেন, তাই হল সরল পথ। যদি আপনি তাদের আকাঙ্খাসমূহের অনুসরণ করেন, ঐ জ্ঞান লাভের পর, যা আপনার কাছে পৌঁছেছে, তবে কেউ আল্লাহর কবল থেকে আপনার উদ্ধারকারী ও সাহায্যকারী নেই।

Why only reading a translation is not enough to save you from the punishment of Allah, Shadidul Eqab?

When you read a translation, how was the word ‘Millat’ translated?
As ‘Religion’.

So, you think, ‘Hey, I don’t follow their religion, I follow Islam!’
That’s how you are done understanding this ayah, therefore, you don’t realize the importance of this Ayah as a Muslim. And that’s how you are heading towards the punishment of Allah. 
May Allah guide you and me and save us from Allah’s punishment.

Did you notice how you should greet a Muslim?
Do you not understand the importance of mentioning something in the Quran?
Does it not cross your mind how important it is to follow Allah’s prescribed way in your daily life?
Then how come you say, ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’ to a Muslim?
Is it Allah’s deen you followed or the deen of the Kuffar?

Then, what not in your daily life you follow the ways of the Kuffar?
